Needham Cup

Needham Cup

The Needham Cup is named for HASL founder and President Pete Needham of the former Pete’s Soccer Shop.  The cup will be played annually at the discretion of the HASL Board of Directors which decides on the format and the costs of participation each year.  The Needham Cup is an interleague knockout style tournament which is played over the FALL and SPRING seasons.  It will be a signal elimination format. Teams will be drawn at a CUP DRAWING PARTY held in the fall.   Once a player is listed on a roster, they may only play for that team during the tournament.  Roster switching between the fall and spring will be reviewed for fairness.

Preliminary round games that end in a tie will go directly to penalty kicks to determine a winner. Semi-Final matches and Final match  if tied at the end of regulation will play two 15 minute overtime periods and then penalty kicks if tied after both 15 minute overtime periods have been played.

League Champions will receive a perpetual trophy to hold for a year, and other items to be determined.

Entry fee is $135 per team.  Fees are to be paid at time of cup draw.

Semi-Finals and Championships to be played at John Hunt Championship Fields
