Joining
a Team
HASL does not guarantee that you will be able to join a team. That decision is between you and the individual team much
like in a professional league. However, researching
this web site is a big advantage. Generally, there are
three paths you can use to join a team. We recommend
you try as many as possible or a combination.
- If a season is currently being played, attend a few
games as a spectator. The games are free and it
will only cost you time. Everyone is very
approachable so you can walk right up and talk with the captains and the
teams. Face-to-face is a very solid step to
getting on a team. You can find out when and
where teams are playing through our web site.
- Contact the captain of the team you want to join via
e-mail, phone, or in person. You can access team
information using this web site. More than
likely, you (and the team) will want to practice together a few times to
see if there is a good match. If so, you and the
captain can go about getting registered. If not,
try another team.
- Send, to the Player
Pool, a brief soccer bio of yourself with contact info and any
preferences such as preferred playing positions and which divisions you
prefer to play in (ex. rec players don't need to
play in the Premiership). HASL will put you on
the player pool list and send this list to all the captains in the
league. Captains needing a player with your
experience or interests may call you.
- Need help? Contact the league office for suggestions or
advice.
